Welcome, I'm glad you're here!
Imagine stepping into a safe, compassionate space where you can address feelings of anxiety, relationship challenges, grief, or the stresses of daily life. Seeking support is a courageous step, and I am here to guide you through it!
With over eight years of experience in mental health and acute care as a Registered Nurse, I bring a holistic approach to my work as a Nurse Psychotherapist. My journey into mental health began during my third year of university in an adult inpatient mental health unit. It was there that I first felt a profound connection to supporting individuals through life’s emotional and mental challenges, a realization that shaped my career and passion for mental health.
As a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I also teach future nurses at the University of Toronto, a role that allows me to share my knowledge and inspire the next generation of mental health professionals. I am always keen to continue to deepen my skills in providing effective, compassionate care.
My therapeutic approach combines evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Each session is uniquely tailored to help my clients explore their thoughts and emotions, build resilience, and find relief from mental and emotional challenges.
My nursing background gives me a unique perspective in psychotherapy, enabling me to consider the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—in every session. This holistic approach has proven invaluable in my work with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, grief, perimenopausal challenges, and work-related burnout. My experiences in various clinical settings, from stroke medicine to intensive care, have also reinforced my understanding of how mental health impacts physical health and overall well-being.
I am passionate about fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and respect. My practice is inclusive, welcoming individuals from all walks of life, including neurodivergent clients, the LGBTQ+ community, couples, and families. One of my most significant learning moments came early in my career, when I supported the family of a patient with end-stage cancer. Witnessing their journey reinforced my belief in the importance of compassion for both patients and their loved ones, a value that continues to guide my work today.
When I’m not in session, you can find me enjoying the outdoors through hiking and glamping, spending quality time with family at concerts and movie nights, or simply unwinding with meditation and reading. I believe that prioritizing my own mental wellness allows me to bring my best self to each session, and shows my clients that I am walking the walk, not just talking the talk!
Taking the first step toward healing can feel daunting, but you don’t have to go through this alone! Together, we can navigate your challenges, strengthen your resilience, and work toward your goals for a more fulfilled, balanced life.
